CORPUS CAELI
Ho voluto dedicare una serie intera al cielo. L'ho chiamata Corpus Caeli: cinque lavori che abitano la stessa idea, ognuno da un'angolazione diversa.
Il primo si intitola "Dell'aria e d'altre pose", ed è dedicato al tondo.
Ho voluto intrappolare un'idea, non un cielo: quello rinascimentale, solenne, fermo da secoli a reggere gesti sacri. Poi ci ho fatto entrare due braccia che non reggono niente. Cadono, cedono, e basta — con la stessa grazia con cui altrove sostenevano santi.
Il tondo l'ho pensato come un oblò, una lente che isola un frammento di cielo e lo restituisce chiuso in una cornice. Classico e contemporaneo si toccano, senza che uno debba vincere sull'altro.

CORPUS CAELI
I wanted to dedicate an entire series to the sky. I called it Corpus Caeli: five works inhabiting the same idea, each from a different angle.
The first is titled Of Air and Other Poses, dedicated to the tondo.
I wanted to trap an idea, not a sky: the Renaissance one, solemn, held still for centuries beneath sacred gestures. Then I let two arms into it that hold nothing up. They fall, they give way — with the same grace once used to support saints.
I thought of the tondo as a porthole, a lens isolating a fragment of sky and handing it back framed. Classic and contemporary touch, without either one winning.
